Cricket Formats Explained
Knowing the characteristics of each format before betting is important. Betting markets also differ across formats.
Twenty20
20 overs per team. A match typically ends in 3 to 4 hours. Betting markets are very active due to the high run rate. All markets are available — sixes, wickets, and match winner.
BPL IPL T20 WCOne Day International
50 overs per team. A full match lasts around 7 to 8 hours. Strategy betting is more popular — you'll find powerplay score, top batsman, and total runs markets.
ICC World Cup BD TigersTest Cricket
A five-day match with two innings per team. You'll find match winner, series winner, wicket taker, and session betting markets. Well suited for patient bettors.
Test Series AshesThe Hundred
100 balls per team — bowled in sets of 5 or 10 balls. This format is popular in England and a match finishes in around 2.5 hours. Point-by-point betting is popular.

Top Markets in Football Betting
Bangladeshi football fans are most interested in the Premier League, La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and FIFA World Cup qualifiers. You can bet on matches from all these competitions at lickbd.
1X2 (Match Winner)
Home team wins (1), draw (X), or away team wins (2) — the simplest betting market.
Double Chance
Pick two out of three possible outcomes — increase your chances of winning with lower risk.
Over / Under Goals
Usually on the 2.5 goal line — bet on whether the match will have 3 or more goals.
Both Teams to Score
Whether both teams will score at least one goal each — yes or no.
Asian Handicap
A virtual goal difference is applied between the weaker and stronger team to level the playing field.
Note: Many big Champions League and Premier League matches kick off after midnight Bangladesh time. Bet without interruption at night on the lickbd mobile app.
Betting Exchange: A Guide to Understanding Back and Lay
How is a betting exchange different from a regular sportsbook? Here, other players are your counterparts.
✔ Back Bet
You think an event will happen — for example, Bangladesh will win the match. You bet on that side. If the event occurs, you win.
Example: You back Bangladesh with ৳1,000 at odds of 2.5. If Bangladesh wins, you receive ৳2,500 in total (profit ৳1,500).
✘ Lay Bet
You think an event will not happen — you take on the role of the bookmaker and accept bets from others. If the event does not happen, you win.
Example: You lay India with ৳500 at odds of 2.0. If India loses, you win ৳500; if India wins, you pay ৳500.
| Topic | Betting Exchange | Regular Sportsbook |
|---|---|---|
| Source of Odds | Set by other players | Set by the bookmaker |
| Lay Betting | Possible | Generally not possible |
| Margin | Commission (usually a small %) | Bookmaker's built-in margin |
| Market Liquidity | Depends on players | Bookmaker always provides odds |
To succeed on an exchange, you need a solid understanding of how the market works. Start with small amounts to get familiar.
Familiar Card Games in a New Way
Card and board games well-known to players in Bangladesh are now available online.
Teen Patti
Played with three cards. The player with the best hand wins the pot. Starter tip: begin with smaller bets to build a strong hand. Play against a live dealer or with other players.
Andar Bahar
A joker card is placed in the middle of the table. The remaining cards come out one by one — you bet on whether a card of the same value will land on the Andar (left) or Bahar (right) side. Played against a live dealer.
Callbreak
In this four-player trick-taking game, you must call how many tricks you will win before each round begins. Spades are always trump. Played against other players — beginner tip: save your spade cards.
Ludo / Rummy
In Ludo, roll the dice to bring all four pieces home — simple but exciting. In Rummy, form sets and sequences from your cards. Both games are played against other real players.
Fishing Games & Arcade: Action-Packed Fun
In fish-shooting games, you hunt fish with your cannon. Each shot has a fixed cost and different fish carry different multipliers. Small fish are caught often, but landing a big boss fish brings a massive reward.
Arcade Game Types
- Mega Fishing: Many players in a large tank at once, including bonus boss fish.
- Bombing Fishing: Use explosions to catch multiple fish at the same time.
- Jackpot Fishing: Catch a special golden fish to enter the jackpot pool.
- Dinosaur Tycoon: Dinosaurs instead of fish — the same fun with a fresh theme.
Expert Tip: Track the cost of each shot. Upgrading your cannon level increases its power but also raises the cost per shot — play within your budget.

Sponsorship Trends in the Cricket World
Cricket sponsorship by online gaming brands has become a major industry trend in the Bangladesh market. Various well-known brands are partnering with cricket teams and players.
For example, Babu88 has linked up with several teams in global T20 leagues, Crickex is running regional sponsorships in the South Asian market, and Jeetbuzz has appointed West Indies star Andre Russell as a brand ambassador.
This trend shows how cricket and online gaming are coming together in Bangladesh's entertainment culture. As BPL and other tournaments grow in popularity, the scope of these partnerships is expanding as well.
